Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

IMPART works very closely with the Transport Systems Catapult to support the development of cutting edge research. As part of the IMPART programme we aim to support academic staff and PhD students to take part in projects and research at the Catapult.

Q.  How much funding can I apply for?

Ans: IMPART will pay for travel, accommodation and a subsistence allowance to enable you to spend time in Milton Keynes. We do not usually pay staff or PhD salaries.

Q.  How long can my placement be?

Ans: Placement lengths are flexible. As an example they may run for 1 day a week for 12 weeks or they may run for 3 weeks full time.

Q. Who is eligible to apply for a placement ?

Ans: All staff and PhD students from our four partner universities are eligible to apply. This includes Coventry University, De Montfort University, Loughborough University and Nottingham Trent University. All research must be in the field of Intelligent Mobility.

Q.  How do I find the right person to support my research at the Transport Systems Catapult?

Ans: Please fill in the outline proposal and return to info@impart-upp.co.uk. This will be assessed by IMPART and the TSC who will look for a suitable match. IMPART will provide you with the contact to enable you to discuss your proposal in more detail. Providing both parties are happy funding will be granted and the placement can go ahead.
